At the 2024 Geneva Health Forum, Benedicta won the Science Speed Talk Competition for her research on the Acceptability of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services among Refugee Women in Tyrol, Austria. Her central message: “Availability does not equal access”. A striking finding was that women’s preference for female providers fell away once care was delivered with cultural sensitivity, pointing to provider training, not gender, as the decisive and fixable factor in access.
